Welcome to Natasha and John who bring their daughter Hallie Noa for baptism.
Parish Lunch
The interest in parish lunch seems to be at a very low ebb. What stops you coming? We have not booked anywhere for June but I am certain that if a group wanted to go the Royal Oak there would be room. Shall I arrange to book Green Oak Farm? Who would come? Do I need a table for six or a table for 20? Please do speak to me or to Ian or Thelma so we know your mind. The silence has been deafening!
New PCC members
We still have two spaces on the PCC. We are obliged to fill them as soon as possible. Please let me know if you are interested or perhaps willing to stand. It is such an important part in the life and activities of church. Thank you to those of you who are willing to give up your time – it is appreciated.
The new cake/biscuit list is out
Please sign up if you would like to donate cakes or biscuits for our Church refreshments. They can be bought or homemade. You could also donate money so we can buy the cakes for you. Thank you.
The Church at the Summer Fair on Saturday 14th June 2025
There is a little plan to have our three or four stalls at this fair. Could a few of you volunteer to help? We also hope to have the church open to welcome people. We need two at a time in there from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. For stalls speak to Julie W or Heather. For Church, chat to Jenny G.
Link with St Barnabas Church Limassol
Some of you will remember Edna who worshipped with us when her sister in Bromborough was dying. We have been praying for our brothers and sisters there and for Revd Debra who is fairly new to the parish. Edna is keen to share their news and for them to pray for them as we do their parish and to try to develop this link at little. I don’t know where or how this will grow. I know that talking and sharing with others can benefit all parties and I see from their website (and from talking to Revd Debra as I have done) that they share many of the aspirations that we do. I am looking for someone who could
- Receive Edna’s emails/newsletters and post them in church
- Select items with me to publicise for our prayers.
- To develop communications by email with St Barnabas Limassol.
You can look on their website at stbarnabas-cyprus.com
Chat & Craft
Fridays from 9:30-12.00 noon in the Centre. A weekly ‘chat & craft’ session which is open to all. Just turn up or speak to Heather, Gill or Kay for more information.
Dates for your diary
14th June 9.00 am Men’s Breakfast at the Royal Oak
14th June 10.00 am Brass cleaning in Church
About The Electoral Roll
The Roll is open again. Please do join it. There are a lot of people missing from this data base. If you have a specific reason for not doing so please do chat that through or email Jenny G.
Every six years each parish across the whole of the Church of England (cofe) revises their ‘Electoral Roll.’ This work is usually completed by the Electoral Roll Secretary (Ros Wood at St Barnabas) with assistance from other members of the laity as appropriate.
- Anyone who is over 16, baptised (into any denomination), sees themselves as part of the Church of England and lives in the parish can be on the electoral roll.
- You can also be on the roll if you have been baptised, are a member of the cofe and worshipped at in our case St Barnabas habitually (I would say at least once per month) and live outside the parish boundary.
- If none of that sounds like you, we have a few of you who belong to churches not in Communion with the C of E. However, you do believe in the Holy Trinity ‘belong’ also to the cofe by worshipping at St Barnabas regularly. You can be on the electoral roll too.
You do not have to be confirmed to be on the electoral roll.
